Some outstanding players in the Pac-12 conference are turning to the NBA draft as the next step of their basketball lives. I think the conference has at least four players that could hear their names called on draft day.
Duke’s first two games weren’t very competitive (sorry, Carla), with Duke winning by 29 in its first game and 19 in its second. Utah on the other hand, has been in some closer games, and took out 4th-seeded Georgetown by 11 points due to free throws. The two teams face off tonight at 9:45 p.m. ET on CBS for a chance to advance to the Elite 8.
If you were trying to catch your breath from the last 10 hours of basketball, Utah and Stephen F. Austin didn’t do you any favors as their matchup came down to the final minute. The Lumberjacks of SFA were just a few jumpers going in and out from upsetting the Utes, but ultimately fell, 57-50. This would have been the perfect 12-five seed upset that we are all looking for as soon as brackets are revealed, but the Utes stout defense held SFA’s high scoring offense to almost 30 points below their season average.
