Oklahoma head basketball coach Lon Kruger and Michigan State head basketball coach Tom Izzo aren’t unfamiliar with one another. As one was starting to ascend the ranks as one of the top coaches in the nation, the other was starting his journey as a bounce-around coach. Dayton has made quite a run, first beating Boise State, then 6-seed Providence, and capturing the hearts of college basketball fans everywhere. But playing six games in 10 days with only seven scholarship players on the roster, and point guard (Scoochie Smith) getting less than 3 minutes rest in the last three games, finally took a toll on Dayton. Dayton only scored 10 points in the last 10:30 of the game, and Oklahoma was able to capitalize with a 72-66 win.
