North Carolina and Wisconsin rescued us after the thud that was Wichita State and Notre Dame. The Tar Heels were in control for 75 percent of this game and were imposing their own pace on the game, until Wisconsin made its move late in the second half to win, 79-72.
With the Sweet 16 on the line, neither team was willing to give in. No. 1 seed Wisconsin wasn’t able to pull away from the Ducks until late in this one, 72-65. The Ducks gave the Badgers and Bo Ryan all they could handle. Frank Kaminsky did not steal the show, but he was able to tally 16 points.
Three days ago, 15 finalists were announced for the Wooden Award, which is given to the most outstanding player in the country. As we head into the major conference tournaments, there are a clear top two candidates to bring home the hardware, but let’s take a look at the top five.
