Not many teams can step on the court and control the game in such a fashion as No. 6 Wisconsin did this evening against No. 23 Ohio State. The Badgers put their foot on the gas and didn’t let up, rolling to a 72-48 win. With only a small scare midway through the second, Wisconsin put on another showing as they work toward a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Impact Players
Frank Kaminsky had another big game going 9-of-13 with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. He was just a force as always as the National Player of the Year candidate put on a last show for everyone. Bronson Koenig also dropped a few 3-point buckets on his way to 15 points.
Despite a .432 3-point shooting percentage, D’Angelo Russell only shot 1-7 from the arc. Games like that from your star player won’t turn the game around. Jae’Sean Tate had 13 points and 6 rebounds for the Buckeyes.
Turning Point
At one point in this game, it was 46-39 … and then Wisconsin went on a 20-2 run that all but stabbed the life out of the Buckeyes. If there was truly a turning point to this game it was when Wisconsin stepped on the court.
Up Next
The Badgers will face the winner of Illinois/Michigan in the Big Ten tourney on Friday, while Ohio State will meet the winner of Rutgers and either Northwestern or Minnesota.
