If there was a snoozer on Thursday, this one was it. (Sorry, Lafayette.) Villanova, the top seed in the East region, rolled to a 93-52 win over the undermatched Leopards. The 41-point loss for Lafayette was the worst loss in NCAA Tournament history for a team from the Patriot League. Villanova never trailed in the game.
Impact Player
Villanova had six players reach double-digits in scoring, led by a 16-point effort from Dylan Ellis. Teammate Daniel Ochefu nearly had a double-double, with 14 points, 9 boards and 3 blocks.
Strange, Yet True
Nova coach Jay Wright took advantage of the big lead to empty his bench as 11 players were listed on the scoring sheet for the Wildcats.
