The Jayhawks hobbled into the tournament with multiple players nursing injuries and a suspension to Cliff Alexander but with some needed rest the past few days, they looked back to old form. From the moment they took the court, the game looked like a schoolyard bullying. The Aggies couldn’t put a stop to it either. They were bested 75-56.
Impact Player
Frank Mason III had a monster game with 17 points, 4 assists, and 9 rebounds. He was all over the court and had more points than Perry Ellis and Wayne Seldon Jr. The guy just had a great game.
Strange, Yet True
New Mexico State had 2 players in double digit points Tshilidzi Nephawe and Remi Berry with 10 apiece. The Kansas Jayhawks only had one. Mason dropped 17 but no one else eclipsed single digit numbers. 75 points and only one double digit scorer for the Jayhawks.
