Tom Izzo and his seventh-seeded Spartans are headed back to the Elite 8 for the second year in a row.  Sparty Nation is counting its blessings for now after fighting off an Oklahoma lead Friday night in Syracuse.  The Spartans held on defeating the Sooners, 62-58.

Travis Trice led the charge for the Michigan State with 24 points, hitting 7-of-14 shots from the floor, 4-of 9 from 3-point land. Buddy Hield led Oklahoma with 21 points.

Michigan St. faces Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals on Sunday in the East Regional semifinal.  This is a rock star coaching match-up featuring two future hall of famers. Izzo is no stranger to taking lower seeded teams the distance; in fact, he is breaking records doing it.  Izzo improved to 12-9 as the lower seed in NCAA Tournament play, that’s best by a head coach in tourney history.

Tip off is at 2:20 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
