No doubt about it, Duke’s freshman Tyus Jones was named the MVP of the tournament. After the benching of Jahlil Okafor and Justise Winslow due to foul trouble, Jones put the team on his shoulders.
Honorable mention to Grayson Allen who dug the Blue Devils out of a nine-point deficit, then handed it over to Jones who dominated the last four minutes of the game. He led the Blue Devils with 23 points and 5 rebounds. His shooting selection was great; he ended 7-of-13 for field goals, 2-of-3 for 3-pointers and 7-of-7 for free throws. Jones scored the last 5 points of the game and sealed the deal for the Duke Blue Devils to win their first national championship since 2010.
