Instant Analysis: Gonzaga closes strong, beats UCLA

Gonzaga faced the wildcard of the tournament tonight in UCLA. Unlike nine years ago when Gonzaga blew a second half lead to lose the game, the Bulldogs instead showed up tonight and played the basketball game that was meant to be played. I think we all knew Gonzaga wasn’t going to let the only double-digit seed left derail its Elite 8 birth. It wanted some revenge and ended the game with a 74-62 win.

Gonzaga meets UCLA nine years later

The Gonzaga Bulldogs look to take on the UCLA Bruins tonight in the Sweet 16. This comes nine years after the infamous image of Adam Morrison crying at mid court after the Zags blew a lead in the second half to get eliminated. The Bulldogs are favored to win the game, but there are some things for the Bruins to do to upset the Zags.

Will the Irish have any ‘Luck’ in beating Kentucky?

Notre Dame is coming off a big 81-70 Sweet 16 victory against Wichita State and is on its way to its first Elite 8 appearance since 1979. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the Irish will face the top overall seed and still undefeated Kentucky Wildcats. The question is, how much “luck” will the Irish need to dethrone the Wildcats?
