A day of upsets and bracket busters led to close call games all day. Heading into the tournament Kentucky was practically the unanimous pick to win the tournament, so would the first round upsets touch them? Of course not. Kentucky showed why it is  the No. 1 team in the nation, breezing past its first round bye … I mean game (sorry, Hampton), 79-56.

Karl-Anthony Towns, the freshman forward for Kentucky, ended the game leading the team with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
