Coming into the tournament Dayton felt like they should’ve been a higher seed, and they showed why tonight. The first half of the game was fairly even with a tie score going into halftime. Coming out of the locker room at halftime, Dayton started to get on a roll and within five minutes, the Flyers pulled away with a lead that Providence couldn’t overcome, holding on for a 66-53 win.

Instant Analysis: No. 4 Louisville escapes
The Louisville versus UC Irvine showdown was definitely one of the most back and forth games of the tournament so far. The largest lead the entire game was only seven points. With six ties and nine lead changes, the game ended with a one-and-one foul opportunity for Louisville’s freshman Quentin Snider who sunk both attempts and sealed the deal for the Cardinals ticket to the next round.

Heading into the tournament Kentucky was practically the unanimous pick to win the tournament, so would the first round upsets touch them? Of course not. Kentucky showed why it is the No. 1 team in the nation, breezing past its first round bye … I mean game (sorry, Hampton), 79-56.
